Hopes, Dreams, Realities

SAS (Summative Assessment) | English

Suggested Levels: Grades 9-12

Students are required to demonstrate their skills as critical readers as they synthesize two articles using a guiding question as their prompt. The SAS includes a writing task which is a culminating article based on the essential question, "Hopes, Dreams and Reality - What propels us forward and what holds us back?"

This is an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skill at writing articles. The models provided are all based on hopes and dreams that young athletes have of making it big in sports.

However, students may choose to write about other domains such as the arts, business or any other situation in life that requires individuals to meet challenges or to push beyond boundaries.

This SAS also includes tasks designed to assess comprehension and critical reading skills.
